New Faces Found in Sales
Published: 1/25/2012
DETROIT LAKES AND CROSBY, MN - Our new year has found us with a couple of new faces in our sales department. Mike Dubay began selling in November in
our Crosby location. With over 40 years of experience in estimating and sales, he is a welcome addition to our staff in that location. We also welcomed Zach Felt back to the Stenerson Lumber family in January. Returning to the Detroit Lakes store after gaining some field experience from a local contractor, we enjoy seeing his smiling face again daily. Both are busy familiarizing themselves with our products and processes and we
hope that they are able to serve you soon! |
Door Flashing Done Right
Published: 9/29/2011
MOORHEAD, MN - Water is probably the single element that poses the greatest threat to buildings. Flashing protects a building’s joints from water penetration and the importance of proper flashing is often minimized and sometimes even ignored. Without proper water management, water can enter the walls around door and window frames, leading to mold, wood rot, termite problems, and higher utility bills. Conventional caulking methods leave the door opening vulnerable to water infiltration from wind-driven rain and other extreme weather. And, over time, caulk will weaken and may reduce a door’s performance. The best way to weatherproof your doors is to flash them, creating a drainage plane to drain water away from the home.
Dupont™ offers flashing systems that are easy to use and work very well with each other. Starting with a whole-house Water-Resistive Barrier such as Tyvek® housewrap, protection is extended to door and window openings with products such as FlexWrap™ and StraightFlash™ (peel and stick flashing). By using these materials around the sill, header, and jambs, you can create a water-tight seal. It’s a strong defense, which will avoid common door problems of leaking, warping, and molding -resulting in happy homeowners and fewer callbacks. View the attached document Dupont Flashing Systems for an in-depth look at how to utilize these flashing products. Free job-site training is also available. Contact your Stenerson Lumber Salesperson.
